Recovery Peer Advocate

We are pleased to announce our newest addition to the Prevention
Council team! Victoria Metz, the Certified Recovery Peer Advocate
joined the Prevention Council in October. Victoria spent nearly
five years working at Arms Acres in Carmel, in both Detox and Rehab.
She has extensive knowledge of the resources that are available in
Putnam County. Victoria will be working closely with local law
enforcement to link individuals dealing with substance use disorder to
treatment or other services. She will be a liaison to various agencies in
Putnam and is a Narcan trainer. We are excited to welcome her to our

We are here to help.

There are various ways to achieve recovery from substance use disorder. The Recovery Peer Advocate is available to assist anyone who is struggling with substance use disorder, regardless of where they are in their journey. Whether you are considering making changes or are ready to take action, the Peer Recovery Advocate is here to listen and provide support.

The Recovery Peer Advocate is a certified, peer-based recovery support service that is non-clinical and aims to help individuals beyond initiation and stabilization and into recovery maintenance. The services provided by the Recovery Peer Advocate include:

    • Meet with individuals in Putnam County with behavioral health (substance use and mental health) needs
    • Provide advocacy, coaching, and education Act as a guide and mentor through all stages of recovery
    • Provide assistance and connection to healthcare, educational, vocational, housing, transportation and related services
    • Collaborate with other Peer Recovery Advocates and behavioral health organizations in the community
    • Provide expertise to support self-directed recovery, remove obstacles and achieve identified goals
    • Help individuals and families initiate and maintain recovery from substance use disorder
    • Assist individuals with tools to discontinue substance misuse and reduce negative health outcomes
    • We aim to remove any obstacles that may hinder sustained recovery and partner with you every step of the way.
